THE INTROVERT BY DEL PERRO

The international delegation of introverts has concluded—through a series of Zoom calls where only 25% of the delegation was present and no one had their camera on and a hotly debated email chain (most of the delegation consists of geriatric millennials)—that “The Introvert” by Del Perro is the official anthem of all introverts worldwide.

Is this the most relatable song ever? It captures introverted angst about being in your 20s to a T. Let me just give you a taste—a sampling—of these lyrics:

• Is it ordinary, is it normal to be terrified full of envy of what you’ll never be even if you tried?
• Don’t think in terms of common sense, all it wants to do is be alone.
• I gotta think of something to say. I never asked to be this way.
• It takes everything I have just to speak (I’m exhausted).

With many, many more. I mean, what is more relatable than being an introvert, says the introvert who benefits from a certain level of anonymity through his blog and had to develop a persona to write and make videos.

We could replace the Myers-Briggs Test with the following: “If you related to 3 or more of the aforementioned lyrics, then you’re an introvert. No further testing necessary.”
