FRESH FINDS
Our Friday Fresh Find goes to my good friends, Michael Barrow & the Tourists. You probably recognize him from those Chirp ads, but believe you me Michael Barrow and his Tourists are much much more. It’s been a hard year for the tourists due to Covid given the fact that their occupation is touristing, but give their new single Clover a listen today. I thank the Lord Almighty that I was in a crappy band which gave me the opportunity to get to know these fine gentlemen.

This week’s Friday Fresh Find goes to dad sports. Their bio on Spotify reads as if they’re the first McDonald’s fast food chain in Canada, and that’s all you need to know about how eccentric dad sports is. They all look like they wear Jean shorts with air monarchs unironically and are part of a religion that worships Michael cera as their savior. It’s classic indie rock. What more could you want? The Friday Fresh Find goes to Cut Out by Ralph Castelli. The best description of this album is it’s your cool older brother’s music. If it were 2001, I’d definitely be stealing this CD from him to listen on my CD player that skips unless you tape it shut. It’s got awesome bass lines so powerful you’ll feel them in your chest which will almost assuredly make you miss going to live concerts. After 2020, we all need a little change. Let’s that change be this version of “A Change Is Gonna Come” by Los Coast and Gary Clark Jr. |
