POST-BYRONIC BY ROY ORBITRON

This whole album boils down to one thing: it sounds like if a combination of the lead singer of Sports Team and Matt Berninger (on the gravelly end of his register) sang songs cowritten by Conor Oberst and Andrew Bird. Oberst's latter stuff mostly. Think Bright Eyes’ most recent album and Better Oblivion Community Center.

But for the all of the great things about this EP, the thing that sticks out the most—the thing that captivates me—are the violin parts. They are simple yet seamlessly mesh with and complement every other part, so much so that I don’t think I would enjoy this album half as well as I should like; and I would enjoy less than half of it half as well as it deserves.
