No matter how many times I see Little Moon, it never ceases to surprise me how incredible she is. The vocal range, the melodies, and the lyrical creativity are second to none. Every time, all I can think is “Little Moon, big sound.” Seeing her live, you experience the raw power of her vocals, and if you’re made of glass, or even a little fragile, you just might break.
Little Moon isn’t your typical folk artist. Her music is too unique to be put in the box of a single genre, but if I had to specify, it would magical folk or fantasy folk. Because those words—magical and fantastical—help paint a picture of just how enchanting it can be. As the music reaches your ears, you’re transported to a magical glade in a forest like the ones you read about in fairy tales or have navigated in a Legend of Zelda game. You prance like a faun or glide like a sprite, and you don’t have a care in the world as you enter a trance, and finally, you can understand how one would believe in sirens or hear angelic choruses on high.
