FRESH FINDS
That's what the music video of "Lifeboats" by Eleanor Collides would be if made anytime between 1996 and 2007. The most hilarious part of all of this is that I wrote this before the song came out today. I threw it on one more time before I posted this, and sure enough, the video shown on Spotify while this song plays is in black and white, there is a short glimpse of a downtown area, a train, and a bustling crowd that's blurred out. I was pretty damn close.
This song is moody British alternative rock in all its glory. Strong bass under acoustic strumming and ethereal synths. When the electric riff comes in, I feel like I’m about to sit down to play PS2 with the boys. You will most likely find this song in a mid-00s action movie when the protagonist has an existential crisis. I don’t know how Eleanor Collides managed to time travel, but I guarantee it’s out there if you look for it. You will either like it or you won’t, and either is okay.
