FRESH FINDS
I’m just going to cut to the chase. My favorite thing about this song is the bass. It’s the driving force of the song. It’s where bass belongs: in the fucking driver’s seat. It’s so fuzzy and sounds like slightly deeper TV static—the kind where if you accidentally changed the input while playing video games, and it switched to the static channel that only plays static 24/7, you’d be temporarily made deaf by the sound because for whatever reason the volume is 1000x louder on that channel.
When my older brother was 16, he decided to put a subwoofer in his 1990s S10 pickup truck. Why did he decide to do this? Because my brother is tacky, and his tastes have always been questionable.* But the rattle the subwoofer produced—that shook me to my very core and quite possibly changed my DNA forever—sounded exactly like the bass on this song. Now throw a catchy melody on top of this, and we’re good to go. It’s this kind of alt/pop that has subliminal pop punk sound and messages that really gets me going. I put my head down and start moshing. It’s caused havoc in my house, but it’s worth it. At only two minutes and seven seconds, you have no excuse not to give the song a listen or two.
*You've been getting a lot of information regarding my siblings this week, and for that I am sorry.
