TOp ten Lists

Everyone loves a good list. My friends have a tradition where every year we share our top ten albums of the year on a big email chain. It's become one of my favorite traditions, to the point where I am giddy with anticipation months in advance. It's a big reason why I started this blog.

This page is for those top ten lists, as well as any other top ten list we can think up. The takes can get pretty damn spicy, so get ready. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
DISCLAIMER: All lists are subjective, but if you disagree with us, you have two options: You can either 1) fight us to the death in trial by combat to decide who is right, or 2) admit you're wrong because deep down you know it's true.

ANDY'S TOP TEN ALBUMS OF 2022

This is my favorite time of the year. These lists have the power to cure my seasonal depression. Here are my Top Ten Albums of 2022:
10. Melon Collie - Homephone. Had a very cool experience of walking into a random comic book store in Amsterdam and hearing them play “Hot Tea” by Homephone in the store. Sure, that song's not on this album, but if you like Japanese Breakfast, Jay Som, or Fazerdaze, check them out.
9. Rock & Roll Is Dead and So Am I - Fake Nice. If Jesus Christ were on Earth today, I think he'd really dig this album.
8. Rim of the World - Lantern By Sea. Last Utah band. A solid indie folk/rock album, despite their weird obsession with lighthouses.
7. DECIDE - Djo. Joe Keery, best known for being the hardest working single mom on Stranger Things as Steve Harrington, released an album this year. And despite my desperate pleas for him to collab with his Stranger Things costar, Maya Hawke, this album was still good. “Change” and “End of Beginning” alone are the reason this album makes my top 10.
6. Being Funny In A Foreign Language - The 1975. I hate that I love the 1975. Matt Healy is a menace and must be stopped. I won't be taking questions at this time.
5. Asphalt Meadows - Death Cab for Cutie. Yes, it’s 2022, and I still listen to Death Cab. I do not care that I can hear Ed making fun of me on the other side of his phone. This album feels like a combination of Transatlanticism and Narrow Stairs blended with their new sound.
4. Expert In A Dying Field - The Beths. I was slow on Jump Rope Gazers in 2020, so I was sure not to be slow on this album.
3. Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You - Big Thief. Sometime during the year, I was in the car with a friend and "Spud Infinity" came, and they were immediately like, "WTF are you listening to?" And that is the sign of a great album. "Little Things" is great, but “Simulation Swam” is the sole reason this album is as high as it is.
2. Everything I Know About Love - Laufey. Ed made fun of me at some point this year for including Laufey on my top 10 last year. But I wrote an entire screenplay based on this album, so it deserves my #2 spot.
1. Stick Season - Noah Kahan. If there are any haters, I don't care. I just really liked this album. Plus, he shared my video about him on his Instagram story.
