MOMMA'S TEA GROTTO
None of the information found on this page has been substantiated by any evidence outside of hearsay.
In 2001, the movie Monsters, Inc. was released, and Boo, the little girl who accidentally finds herself in a world full of monsters who think she’s a biohazard, captured the hearts of America. If you’re like me, sometimes you’re sitting around with friends and a topic as random as Boo from Monsters, Inc. comes up. What happens to little girls who are made instant celebrities but eventually fade from the public spotlight never to be seen again? Usually, you have an incredibly annoying friend (me) who will have their phone out, googling to find the answer before you even finish the question, What ever happened to her? But for over 20 years, no one knew the whereabouts of Boo. Not a single ‘Where Are They Now?' article, YouTube video, or TikTok. Not even a Facebook account that hasn’t been updated since 2016. It seemed she had disappeared from the face of the planet. Had she returned to the world of monsters and not told anyone? Well, strap in folks, because I found her. On May 26, 2023, in an arcade bar in Salt Lake City, a band called Daytime Lover took the stage. And who was the lead singer of that band? Boo from Monsters, Inc. How did I come across this information you might ask? Because I was there. I saw her with my own eyes. Did I talk to her afterwards? Of course not!* But after asking around in the crowd, I confirmed it was in fact her. I didn’t catch if any of the songs happened to be about the trauma of an eight legged monster that went by the name of Henry J. Waternoose III (Waternoose passed away in prison while serving for his crimes as seen in the movie) trying to eradicate her from existence, and I don’t want to make any assumptions, but it seems like she’s doing all right. So the next time you’re sitting around with your friends and someone asks, What ever happened to Boo from Monsters, Inc.? Well, now you’ll have something to tell them. *The real reason (outside of this fake universe I've created where Monsters, Inc. is a movie yet the events of that movie also happened in real life) was because I was embarrassed for botching a social interaction with Mo a couple weeks prior at the premier of Chase Ford's short film, A Pickle Story. Chase asked if we had met, and I couldn't place who she was until after she went to go sit down. I responded, "I don't think so." She responded, "Yes." I'm not sure I said anything after this. I blacked out from awkwardness.
